Group Classes

Learn the technique of auditioning for camera. Many actors with theatre training and experience have a tendency to speak more loudly than is necessary or move their heads around too much. Rather than “being smaller,” I help students to start with big, bold choices, then distill their work down to a size that is more effective for the medium.

There is a big difference between auditioning for a single-camera comedy, a multi-camera comedy, a network procedural, a streaming service drama, a feature film, etc. Learn the nuance of each genre!

The On-Camera Audition Technique Class is conducted as a weekly ongoing class. Each week, you will be assigned audition sides to prepare as a self tape. We’ll watch each tape as a class via Zoom. You’ll receive feedback, followed by a live work-through. All actors work every week!

While classes are all currently being held on Zoom, we look forward to resuming in-person class in New York City as soon as it feels completely safe to do so. There will still be Zoom classes available as well.

“Eden's ongoing class made me fall in love with acting again at the height of lockdown. Her scene selections are fantastic and she leads the class in a positive, solution based way that creates the most efficient atmosphere to learn and grow. After trying many of "the best" acting classes over the years and ending up only frustrated by a lot of toxicity and bad power dynamics and not a lot of real teaching I can truly easily say this is my favorite ongoing I have ever taken. Her feedback is always constructive and it's a place of encouragement rather than competition or perfectionism. She is technical in her coaching and it's a work out and a challenge but she also creates a lot of fun and room to play so I look forward to it every week.”

— Lola Kelly (Black-ish, The Fosters)

“When my manager suggested I take this "self tape workshop" I was hesitant and unsure- because that's how I've always felt about "technique" classes. Acting, in my perspective, isn't a technique but more of a philosophy, so I tend to stay away from teaching environments that focus on product. I.E. "Stand this way and look this way and make sure you sound this way….” Eden's class is not a formula for "the right" way to do self tapes, but a safe space to practice real auditioning in the post-pandemic world. Eden helps us with the good habits of eyelines and blocking out our action and even helps us understand tone. She does it through the lens of helping the ACTOR find specificity, stillness, and create a connection to real people through the camera.”

“What's so special to me about Eden's class is how adeptly she is able to individualize her instruction.  She can give the same scene to 5 people and find the nuances of the beats so differently with each person, based on who the actor is and what they bring to the work.  She's not "figuring out the scene" in a cookie-cutter style where "everyone needs to do it this way." She works with you as an individual, bringing out your own unique gifts, giving you confidence in your UNIQUENESS, which is so important in this industry.  It's not getting a scene "right," it is about living in your truth fully within the scene.  And you book when your truth aligns with those truths of the creatives.  You learn to trust your own gut instincts and pull those forward with finesse and an eye for what the sides and the character and the camera need from you. It's singular and she's incredible.  I would recommend Eden's class to anyone needing to hone their on-camera craft, gain confidence in what their strong suits are and what they uniquely bring to the table, and to seasoned actors who just need a refresher with a whip smart partner who emphasizes all your best qualities.  From newly burgeoning actors to skilled professionals, she'll get you believing in yourself, your abilities, and your own unique way of approaching your work. She's also just a magnetic, cool, kind, and generous spirit on top of it all.  I can't recommend her class or her coaching more highly."

“Eden's flexibility and insight make for comfortable and productive sessions anytime I coach with her. She naturally gives space for creative ideas, while also making sure to craft scenes that are technically and visually on point. Eden does a fantastic job of imparting her knowledge and wisdom of the craft of acting without being overbearing. This gives me the freedom to take ownership of the creative process, to create scenes that are uniquely me. #EdenCantBeBeaten”

“Eden is a spectacular teacher that genuinely wants her students to become confident, independent, specific actors. While most acting teachers will “correct” your choices so that you perform the scene “better," Eden actually takes you through the process of working on a script, highlighting moments to make specific actable choices, all the while celebrating your unique you in the role. Week to week every single student in class gets noticeably more confident, creative, and freer with their choices. Gone are the days where I would be stressing about how I will possibly “fit” into a role. Now I look forward to discovering how I can bring my unique perspective to the role while still honoring the script. Added to that, I’ve finally learned how to take my theatre training into an environment with a camera. This is easily one of the best training experiences of my career.”
